Tango Tango supports integration with customers' CAD systems, enabling CAD incidents to be pushed to Tango Tango app users' mobile devices and to the Tango Tango admin portal. Customers must configure their CAD system to forward incidents via email, to a custom, private email address that is created automatically when configuring a new CAD Alert Source in the Tango Tango admin portal.

To configure CAD alerts:

  • Navigate to Alerts - Sources in the admin portal
  • Click 'Add Alert Source'
  • Name the alert source
  • Select the 'CAD' type
  • Select the Feed, which will determine where alerts from this source will be routed, or select 'Create New Feed'.
  • Click Save

Now that the source is created, the Overview tab for the new source will be displayed. The 'Destination Email' field on this page contains the email address that your CAD system should forward to.

Note: We support multiple CAD sources for a single Tango Tango customer account. You can create as many as you need. This may be useful if your CAD system can be configured to forward to a different email address for each station within a county-wide department, for example.

Note: Multiple Sources can be routed to a single Feed. This can be useful when using both First Response Tones and CAD alerting. Separate sources, one for a station's FRT and another for the station's CAD alerts, can be routed to a single Feed, which would contain a list of all the users for the station.

Troubleshooting

Once the CAD source is configured in the admin portal, we recommend performing a simple test: Manually send an email to the provisioned "Destination Email" address. Use a simple subject and body, such as "Test Alert". Within 30 seconds, you should see a new alert in the "Alerts" list. This verifies that Tango Tango provisioning is correct and is ready to accept events from your CAD system.

Webhooks

We also support forwarding CAD incidents via webhook (i.e. HTTP API). If you'd like to use webhooks, contact our support team.
