Settings Details

Default Channel

The default channel controls on which channel a new call will be started when the user presses the PTT button. In addition:

  • When scan mode is off:
    • Calls will be received only on the default channel
    • Changing the default channel will cause an ongoing call on the channel to be dropped.
  • When scan mode is on:
    • Calls will received on all un-muted channels
    • Changing the default channel will have no effect on an ongoing call, unless the new default channel also has an ongoing call. In this case, the device will drop the ongoing call on the previous default channel and will enter the call on the new default channel.

Do Not Disturb

When Do Not Disturb is enabled, no calls will be received on the device. However, a new call can still be started on the default channel by pressing the PTT button.

Scan Mode

Scan Mode controls whether the user can receive calls from all un-muted channels (scan mode ON) or receive calls only from the default channel (scan mode OFF). The default setting is scan mode ON.

Scan Talkback

Scan Talkback controls behavior when the user presses the device PTT button during an ongoing call.

  • Scan Talkback ON (default) - The device will attempt to take the floor on the channel of the ongoing call if the user presses PTT.
  • Scan Talkback OFF - If call is ongoing on a channel other than the default channel, pressing PTT will leave the current call and attempt to take the floor on the default channel.

Location

The SD7 can send location updates, if enabled. This will cause the user’s location to be viewable by other users in the organization, via the Tango Tango smartphone app or admin portal. Please contact Tango Tango support to enable this option.
