This article describes activating and using the Siyata SD7 with Tango Tango PTT.

Activation

Inactivated SD7 will display an activation code on the device’s top display. This code is entered in the Tango Tango portal in order to activate the device on a user’s account.

? Note: Until the devices is activated, this code changes approximately every 10 minutes.

For End-Users (i.e. non-admins)

To activate the device as a Tango Tango user:

For Administrators

Activate the device by browsing to: https://manage.tangotango.io/manage/devices. Select the appropriate organization in the drop-down box if necessary. You will notice a button near the top-right corner of the page to “Register new device”

Clicking this button will open a dialog where you can enter the code displayed on the device.

You may optionally select a user to assign the device to or leave it unassigned. If you do select a user, you may also decide whether device will be organization managed or user managed. If you don’t select a user, the device must be organization managed.

  • An organization-managed device can later be unassigned and reassigned to different users in the organization. This is usually appropriate if the device belongs to the organization and will be kept or reassigned if the user leaves.
  • A user-managed device can be deleted from the organization by an administrator (which would remove the user’s access to the organization), but it cannot be unassigned or reassigned. This is usually appropriate for personal devices that will remain with their owner if that person leaves the organization.

Logging out

With Organization Managed devices, “Logging out” means something different than logging out of a User Managed device. When a user logs out of the app, which can be done under Settings → Profile by clicking ‘Log Out’ at the bottom of the page, an Organization Managed device will go into an “Unassigned” state. To use this device again, an admin will need to assign the device to a user from the Portal using the process mentioned above.
