About Tango Tango First Response Tones (FRT)

Tango Tango First Response Tones (FRT) integrate with your existing radio and tone-based alert paging system, enabling you to receive tone-out notifications on your smartphone when your station is paged out. FRT will play the tones and dispatcher call audio over your smartphone and send a notification to the Tango Tango app, with audible alert tones.

FRT Overview

The first step for running Tango Tango FRT is to provision your agency's tone sequences in the Tango Tango admin portal. This provisioning contains that the details of the sequences (i.e. their frequencies and durations), the name of each tone sequence (which is often the name of the fire station or department), and for each sequence, the users that should be notified when a page is received with that tone sequence.

The FRT page is accessed from the admin portal main menu.

Provisioning FRT

To create a new tone sequence, click on the Add Tone button. Then, type a name for the tone sequence and click Save.

Next, click on the newly created tone in the Tones panel, then select the Settings tab.

Note: These parameters are typically provisioned by Tango Tango operations and support team members. Do not change these settings unless you are certain you know what you are doing.
