Activation Issues Caused by Date or Time Settings

If the log in screen to Tango Tango returns to ENTER YOUR PHONE NUMBER without activating your device, please check your time settings on your device.

If you have manually set the time/date on your device and it is substantially different than the time as determined by your cellular network provider, you may experience issues trying to log into Tango Tango.

Many users that live near a time-zone boundary often want to force the device to the time zone of their choice. Here is how to set your time zone so that it will allow authentication with our servers.

The recommended way to do this is to set the device's time zone rather than changing the time itself. This will result in a correct time (for the purposes of authentication) while still giving the user what they want (a fixed time zone or some fixed hour ahead / hour behind behavior).

On iOS, this is in Settings > General > Date & Time:

  • Change slider to disable "Set Automatically"
  • Change the time zone

On Android this is in Settings > System > Date & Time:

  • Uncheck "Set Time zone automatically"
  • Change the time zone

After making these changes, go back and restart Tango Tango and follow the directions for logging into the application.

Activation Problems Due to Reaching License Limit

After attempting to login, if the Tango Tango screen asks you to contact Tango Tango Support, you may have reached the device license limit for your organization. Your organization's administrator may be able to help you by freeing up unused licenses, using their Admin Portal account. Alternatively, they may be able to contact Tango Tango in order to request additional licenses.
